At ICON Dance Studio, we are passionate about the performing arts and creating individual performers. We strive to reach a students full potential, by guiding and providing the knowledge and training it takes to do so.

We, at ICON Dance Studio, offer a range of diverse classes for the ages 2-18+ from recreational Jazz, tap, hip hop, Ballet, Lyrical, contemporary, Acrobats, open classes
to Technique, Stretch & Strength and troupe classes.

MEET THE TEAM
Valentina Markovinovic
Principal/Artistic Director
​
Valentina began dancing before she could speak. Throughout the years, Valentina's love for dance grew stronger where she moved over to Sydney and began her full time studies at Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy. Valentina performed with the Sydney city Youth ballet, and travelled to various countries to compete in prestigious ballet competitions, landing herself a spot in the finals of the Youth American Grand Prix and being offered placements at the Washington Ballet and Brussels International Ballet.
However Valentina moved back home and furthered her education at the Western Australian Academy of performing arts (WAAPA) where she received her Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Bachelor of Fine arts (dance) whilst being at WAAPA Valentina was privileged to perform at the Beijing Normal University International Dance seminar in Beijing.
Valentina auditioned and took part in the first Industry LA program in 2019 run by Sarah Alice Burns and Marko Panzic, where she worked with choreographers from around LA including, Sienna Lyons, James Marino, Lee Daniel, Sho Tyme, and was mentored by Sarah Alice Burns and Frank Gatson.

After Graduating Valentina's passion turned towards teaching where she hopes to grow her school into an empire.

Nicole Place

Nicole began dancing from a young age training in all genres of dance, her passion for dance bursted out of her from the very beginning and dancing quickly became her home away from home. In 2013 at the age of fifteen she began full time training at a perth based full time performing arts school where she spent 2 years training in all genres of dance, singing and acting as well as completing a certificate II in dance. In 2015 at the age of seventeen Nicole moved over to Sydney for 2 years to further training at The Village Performing Arts, learning and gaining knowledge from some of Australia’s best and most sort after choreographers as well as completing certificate IV in dance and Diploma in Musical Theatre. Some of Nicole’s performance highlights include The voice, Sydney kings, Australian Olympic teams farewell dinner in 2016.
Through Nicole’s love of dance she has also always had a love for teaching beginning as a student teacher from just the age of 13. Since then Nicole has taught at numerous dance schools in Sydney and Perth, she is extremely passionate about teaching and loves passing on her knowledge to all students in a fun and energetic manner.
